Job summary

CMI Group is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist for the night shift to produce high-precision aerospace components. You will set up and operate Mazak lathes, maintain tool wear offsets, and ensure part counts meet MOT requirements while following safety standards.

Responsibilities include daily machine maintenance, tool management, and documentation. Candidates should read GD&T, program knowledge is a plus, and the role requires strong problem solving and independent work with 2-machine

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years experience preferred but not required.
Familiarity with Mazak machines a plus.
Ability to read GD&T and blueprints and interpret BOMs.
Experience holding tight tolerances and reading G&M codes.
Proficiency with standard inspection tools and shop practices.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce aerospace components in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Perform daily machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organized.
Manage tools, offsets, wear, and part counts; replace worn tools as needed.
Adhere to safety standards, FOD rules, and required documentation (MOT, travelers, job sheets).
Communicate issues to lead personnel and contribute process improvement ideas.
Operate 2 machines regularly and maintain productivity with quality.
