Horton, Inc. has an opening for a CNC Machinist in Westminster, SC. This is a 3rd shift role, Sundays to Wednesdays, with overtime as needed.

Pay starts at $27.00/hr plus a $2.00/hr shift premium. The role involves setup, operation, debugging, and ongoing inspection of high-precision parts. Qualified applicants typically hold a 2-year CNC technical degree or 5+ years of CNC production experience, with strong blueprint reading and machine operation skills.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree/diploma in CNC machining is required.
• If no degree, 5+ years CNC production operation experience considered.
• Basic and intermediate blueprint reading.
• Basic and intermediate business systems.
• Communicate and work well with others.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic/intermediate part inspection and measurement.
• Intermediate/advanced machine operations.
• Machinist math computations.
• Safe material handling.
• General understanding of process control.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Changes fixtures, settings, programs, and tooling to achieve finished part dimensions.
• Performs job set-ups and operations from start to finish.
• Assist in debugging and editing programs to control machine operations.
• Adjust cutting parameters and offsets as needed for desired results.
• Operates machining centers to produce high-quality parts efficiently.
• Visually inspects blank stock and fixtures used for machining.
• Maintain 100% attention to machining operations and safety cues.
• Follow inspection protocol to ensure parts meet tolerances.
• Capable of operating Heidenhain control and standard machines.
• Builds and maintains fixtures and tooling; daily/weekly PMs.
