Job summary

Horton, Inc. in Britton, SD is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate machine tools to produce finished parts within tight tolerances. The 2nd shift runs Monday–Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am with overtime as needed, and includes a $1.25 per hour shift premium on this shift.

The role requires setting up tools, loading materials, inspecting parts, and assisting other machinists. A 2-year technical degree or CNC mills/lathe experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with Mills and/or Lathe work as CNC Machinist or a related technical degree.
• Blueprint reading is required.
• Basic math and measurement skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Changes settings or programs and tooling inserts to achieve proper dimensions of finished parts.
• Assist less experienced machinists with set-ups and adjustments.
• Operate machine tools to produce high quality parts efficiently.
• Perform daily and weekly routine machine maintenance.
• Move between machines in the cell as directed by area manager.
