Steel Craft Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a CNC Machinist for the night shift to operate the Okuma Automation Machining Cell and produce machined parts by setting up and programming CNC machines.

The ideal candidate has experience with 3-axis mills, a strong knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds and speeds; a high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required. Automation cell experience and 4-axis milling are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3 axis mills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds.
• High school or equivalent education.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Download programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed.
• Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances.
• Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best results.
• Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration.
• Keep work area clean.
• Follow all safety rules and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Regular attendance during scheduled hours.
• Operate overhead cranes.
