Job summary

Steel Craft Technologies is seeking a CNC Machinist for the night shift to set up and operate our Okuma Automation Machining Cell and produce precision machined parts.

You will download programs, verify tolerances, adjust tools, and maintain calibration while following safety procedures and keeping the work area clean. Familiarity with 3-axis milling and cutters/inserts is essential. This role may require operating overhead cranes and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience operating 3-axis mills with a well-rounded knowledge of cutters, inserts, and feeds/speeds.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and machine to the proper programs and tolerances.
• Download programs and perform MDI as needed.
• Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and adjust to achieve best results.
• Maintain tooling and keep calibration current.
• Keep work area clean and follow safety rules.
• Attend work during scheduled hours and perform other duties as needed.
• Operate overhead cranes.

Summary/objective

Steel Craft Technologies (SCT) is seeking a CNC Machinist to add to their night shift team. The CNC Machinist will be trained to use Steel Craft Technologies' Okuma Automation Machining Cell and produce machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

Essential functions

• Download programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed.
• Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances required.
• Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible results.
• Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration.
• Keep work area clean.
• Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management.
• Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours.
• Employees may be requested to perform other job functions as required.
• Operate overhead cranes

Required competency, education, and experience

• Experience with 3 axis mills
• A well rounded knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds.
• Candidate must have high school or equivalent education.
• Candidate must have valid driver’s license

Preferred education and experience

• Experience with automation cell
• Experience with 4-axis milling
• Two years of machining experience
• Programming experience using Fusion 360

• Candidate must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Position type and expected hours of work

Full-time, night shift. Monday through Thursday, 5 pm to 5:15 am.
