Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant I & Unit Secretary for the Lexington Medical Center, Med Surg Unit B. Primary weekday evenings with PRN 12-hour shifts every six weeks; includes a summer and winter holiday requirement.

Must be a CNA with BLS and high school diploma; clinical experience is a plus. Provides patient care support, unit clerical duties, and effective communication to ensure a safe, organized environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate (or equivalent).
• CNA certification and active with Division of Health Service Regulation with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of property.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties for patient admissions and medical records assembly.
• Maintains confidential, accurate patient information and timely communication with the team.
• Handles and screens calls and transmits messages as needed.
• Communicates with patients, families, and team in a professional manner.
• Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment following established procedures.
• Performs NA1+4 skills per NA-1 Enhancer Program guidelines.
• Assists patients with hygiene, comfort, and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Completes unit responsibilities and supports others when time permits.
• Provides age-appropriate patient care per Age/Developmental Guidelines.
