Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Unit Clerk for night shifts on the ICU-CCU. The role supports direct patient care and performs clerical tasks to maintain an efficient nursing unit.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with nutrition, observation, transport, documentation, and supply management, ensuring a safe, clean environment for patients. Hospital experience preferred but not required. BLS/CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate required.
• Current CNA or PCT certification required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Assists all patients, family members/significant others, physicians, visitors and employees in a friendly manner.
• Introduces self and uses caring, thoughtful words either in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior for clinical environment including patient rights and privacy.
• Assists on the unit with CNA duties when short staffed.
• Transcribes physicians' orders and maintains chart records and other files.
