Job summary

Atrium Health's High Point Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant I for the Telemetry unit (6 South Neuro). This full-time role supports the licensed nurse by performing basic patient care in stable, low-complexity situations during evening hours.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an approved Nursing Aide I program, AHA BLS, and active Nurse Aide I registration. Schedule features 36 hours per week, 7pm–7:30am, three 12-hour shifts, and every third weekend,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of Nursing Aide I program and competency evaluation.
• Nurse Aide I Registry listing.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient condition and vital signs.
• Documents patient data including intake/output and measurements.
• Maintains safe, clean patient care environment and assists with hygiene and comfort.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge processes and patient transportation.
• Ensures 1:1 monitoring as directed and escalates to licensed nurse as needed.
• Provides patient dietary assistance and supports basic care activities.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Successful completion of an applicable state Board of Nursing Aide I approved training program/competency evaluation
