Job summary

ScionHealth in Aurora, Colorado seeks a Nursing Assistant to assist professional staff in providing patient care, daily living activities, and emotional support for patients in long-term acute care. You will work under the direction of registered nurses in a busy hospital setting to ensure patient comfort and safety.

The role requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and current CNA/BLS certification, with at least six months of experience in acute or long-term care.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Minimum six months’ experience in acute or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Consults with supervisor and informs unit activities and problems related to patient care.
• Provide general nursing care including positioning, transfers, and assisting with equipment.
• Take and record vital signs and intake/output and document promptly.
• Prepare patient room and bed for admission and transfers; maintain clean, comfortable environment.
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures; handle patient belongings.
• Respond to patient call lights, phone, and paging system.
• Under RN direction, perform routine treatment procedures.
• Assist with restraints under RN; ensure proper position.
• Support RN/LVN/LPN with complex patient treatments.
• Serve and remove patient meal trays; assist with feeding.
