Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan Miller Prairie Center serves as caregiver to residents during night shifts, providing daily living assistance, basic nursing care, and support under the supervision of an RN. You will assist with bathing, dressing, meals, transferring, and documenting care in the resident records.

The role emphasizes infection control, safety, and teamwork. Requires CNA certification, high school diploma or GED, age 16+, and willingness to complete required training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 16; prior long-term care experience preferred.
• CNA certification with State Board of Nursing or in process within 4 months.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.
• In some states, registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Personnel registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with valid license.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and daily living activities.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and dining experience; monitor and record vital signs.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, and range-of-motion exercises as directed.
• Support documentation of care, report changes to charge nurse, and maintain infection control.
• Assist with housekeeping, laundry, wellness activities, and program participation.
