Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) at Miller Prairie Center in Miller, SD. You will provide resident-centered care under RN supervision, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment during night shifts.

Responsibilities include assisting with transfers, vital signs, meals, and documenting care. A CNA certification is required, with ongoing education and potential driving duties per facility policy.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• Satisfactorily completes competency testing and maintains 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• May be certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry where applicable.
• May classify as Sanford Category II Driver with related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of an RN.
• Assists with transferring, repositioning, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Records vital signs and assists with meals and dining to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Documents resident interactions and communicates care concerns to the charge nurse.
• Assists with wellness and recreational programs and supports infection control practices.
