Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Nursing Unit Assistant to support patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes assisting with admissions, transfers and discharges, preparing patient rooms, transporting patients, and maintaining supplies within the unit.

Qualified candidates typically have a CNA license in the state of employment and BLS certification. The position is full time with a night shift schedule (7PM–7AM) in an on-site hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Prepares rooms for admission by setting up IV pots and adjusting bed to the appropriate level.
• Safely transports stable patients as required.
• Maintains security and confidentiality during patient transport and interaction with family.
• Keeps unit supplies organized and assists with stocking.
• Responds to emergencies and communicates with team across shifts.
