Job summary

Palomar Health's Laboratory-Clinical department is seeking a night shift Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist. The role requires proficiency in procedures across areas, specimen acceptability, calibration and maintenance of equipment, and training new staff.

You will serve as a resource or lead in the section when the supervisor is absent, interact with internal/external customers, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum education as required by certification or licensure.
• 3-5 years of lab experience; 5-7 years preferred.
• Must hold MTA - CA Med Tech (CLS) or Clinical Immunohematologist (MTD) license for Blood Bank.

Responsibilities

• Perform and demonstrate proficiency in laboratory procedures across areas.
• Prepare specimens and ensure accuracy of results.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment with proper documentation.
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff.
• Serve as lead or resource in the absence of a supervisor.
• Interact with internal and external customers professionally.
