Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care along with direct supervision to assigned personnel.
• Conducts performance appraisals, monitors absenteeism, orders supplies, schedules 24 hour staffing, patient and bed triage.
• Assists with addressing performance problems initiating the disciplinary process as appropriate.
• Communicates pertinent information regarding patient care activities and operations to appropriate personnel.
• Participates in formulation of nursing policies and goals.
• Communicates and interprets policies, procedures and regulations to patients, visitors and staff members.
• Mentors staff, delegates actions as appropriate and creates an environment of participation.
• Ensures staff meets regulatory requirements.
• Assists in providing cost-effective use of resources.
• Assists with patient/family concerns and rounds on assigned unit.
