Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and dispenses medication.
• Assesses feasibility of compounding or verifying extemporaneous products and recommends alternatives.
• Prepares IV admixtures and sterile products including hazardous agents.
• Provides drug information and answers requests.
• Monitors and optimizes patient drug therapy under supervision.
• Ensures correct dosing and safety per patient profile.
• Dispenses controlled substances and maintains inventory per policy.
• Supervises technicians and oversees workflow to ensure efficiency.
• Documents orders accurately and counsels patients as needed.
• Keeps current with trends and participates in education programs.
• Participates in hospital-wide quality and service improvement teams.
