Job summary

Trinity Health, serving the Silver Spring, Maryland area, seeks a Clinical Nurse for the Observation Unit to provide expert care within a multidisciplinary team. This role involves night shifts, chemotherapy administration when certified, and active participation in discharge planning and patient education.

The position requires Maryland RN licensure (or compact), BLS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
• BSN degree preferred; agreement to obtain BSN within specified time if not on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to oncology, med/surg, and hospice patients.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy if certified, and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Offer emotional support and education to patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning, pain management and palliative care coordination.
• Document patient progress and communicate effectively with care team.
