Organizes, and staffs the work activities of the laboratory during each shift to provide laboratory services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Associates degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution, plus four (4) years’ experience as a medical technologist/med lab technician.

1. Must submit to a color vision acuity test. Color vision acuity is required to safely perform the duties of this position.

PREFERRED

1. Computer skills: knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel); basic statistics skills.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Master's Degree in science.
4. Certified as a technical specialist (ASCP).
5. Two years of Supervisory and/or management experience in a clinical laboratory.
6. Expertise in assay development.
7. Experience in various methods of nucleic acids purification (DNA, RNA).
8. Knowledge of various platforms for real-time PCR (TAQMAN, FRET, etc.).
9. Knowledge of workflow for sequence analysis and/or DNA-fragment analysis.
10. Ability to prioritize required duties and responsibilities, to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts, and to draw valid conclusions.
11. Ability to adjust to a flexible schedule, varied hours, or work on-call.
