Responsibilities

Organize and staff laboratory work activities during each shift to provide comprehensive laboratory services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

Associate's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution, plus four (4) years of experience as a medical technologist/medical lab technician.

Must pass a color vision acuity test, which is necessary to safely perform the duties of this position.

PREFERRED

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and basic statistics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Master's degree in science.

Certification as a technical specialist (ASCP).

At least two years of supervisory and/or management experience in a clinical laboratory.

Experience in assay development.

Knowledge of nucleic acid purification methods (DNA, RNA).

Familiarity with real-time PCR platforms (e.g., TaqMan, FRET).

Understanding of workflow for sequence analysis and DNA fragment analysis.

Ability to prioritize duties, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Flexibility to adjust to varied schedules, hours, or on-call requirements.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am with rotating weekends

Weekend Requirements:

Yes - Rotating basis
