Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team at MelroseWakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Work Schedule: 11pm - 7:30am, 24 hours a week, 6 days on, 8 days off, every other weekend.

Eligible for 15% shift differential on weekdays OR 30% differential on Saturdays and Sundays. You will perform routine and complex testing, monitor instrumentation, and report results to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Experience in high-volume laboratory environment desirable.
• Proficient with computers and LIS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Maintain safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
