Job summary

Abbott is seeking a General Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory to direct day-to-day lab operations under the Director of Laboratory Operations. You will supervise staff, assure quality standards, and provide technical expertise to ensure CAP/CLIA compliance and timely test performance.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage staffing, budgets, and QA/QC programs onsite in Madison, WI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science.
• 4+ years of experience with high complexity testing in a clinical lab.
• 2+ years in a lead/responsible role with supervision and quality control.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Identify and ensure regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP and other requirements.
• Staffing, training, competency evaluation, and ongoing educational development.
• Supervise laboratory, provide on-site consultation to staff.
• Evaluate equipment and supply needs; manage departmental budget.
• Ensure timely test performance and maintain quality management systems.
