Job summary

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, MO seeks a Regular, full-time laboratory professional.

Under general direction, you will interpret and report test results and perform routine and complex laboratory analyses using established procedures to support patient care. You will operate precision instruments, maintain quality control, assist in choosing appropriate tests, communicate findings to physicians, and stay current with field developments through meetings and literature

Qualifications

• Blood Bank Technologist (BB) license (ASCP) or International Included
• Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (ASCP) or equivalent
• Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) license (ASCP) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Performs a full range of laboratory tests from simple blood tests to more complex tests.
• Interprets test reports and communicates findings to physicians.
• Operates complex electronic equipment and precision instruments.
• Maintains accuracy of equipment and reagents by performing preventive maintenance.
• Assists providers in choosing appropriate lab tests.
• Performs and evaluates quality control procedures.

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent years of experience and education
