Job summary

SSM Health’s Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri seeks a regular full-time laboratory professional for the Chemistry department. This role performs routine and complex analyses, interprets results, and communicates findings to physicians.

The position requires an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, with no prior experience required. Night shift, 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs a full range of laboratory tests from simple blood tests to more complex tests.
• Interprets test reports and communicates findings to physicians.
• Escalates unusual, critical or abnormal results.
• Operates complex electronic equipment, computers and precision instruments.
• Maintains accuracy of equipment and reagents by performing preventive maintenance.
• Assists providers in choosing appropriate lab test.
