The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with phlebotomy/CLA certification, basic lab knowledge, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 18+ if performing phlebotomy.
• Phlebotomy/CLA certification required by state regulations.
• DHS Fingerprinting may be required.
• Valid state driver’s license where employed.
• Preferred: prior clinical lab experience; completion of a lab assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare patient samples, including collection, identification, and processing.
• Assist with receiving, processing, and referral lab work; perform waived to limited moderate testing under supervision.
• Participate in quality control, troubleshooting, and documentation of results.
• Support inventory management and cost-reduction initiatives within the department.
• May perform phlebotomy and assist with staff training; maintain professional communication.
