Job summary

Arxada is seeking a Chemical Operator at its Mapleton, Illinois facility. The role involves hands-on production of bulk chemicals, operating DCS systems, and strict adherence to safety and environmental rules.

You will perform material handling, sampling, and shift handovers, with emphasis on precision and clean work areas. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years in the chemical industry, plus the ability to work independently and use computers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; math courses preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the chemical industry.
• Ability to perform duties independently.
• Knowledge of computers and basic software.
• Understanding of safety & environmental rules and procedures preferred.
• Must complete Level I & II of Mapleton's Operator Certification Training Program.
• Mechanical aptitude to perform process equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all corporate and plant policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions pertaining to safety; and attend all mandatory safety meetings and training sessions.
• Operate manufacturing duties related to production of bulk chemicals, including manual operations and the DCS system.
• Intervene in unsafe situations and report hazards or injuries immediately.
• Inspect tools and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Load/unload materials, weigh shipments, and sample products per SOPs.
