UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Part-time patient care technician (PCT) to perform treatments and support nursing staff during night shifts. You will provide age-appropriate patient care, respond to clinical emergencies, and contribute to safety and quality initiatives.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in dementia care and bedside patient care in an acute setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year PCT experience preferred.
• Experience with dementia patients preferred.
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient treatments according to policy and procedure.
• Provides care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Supports quality standards and improvement initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines and uses protective equipment as required.
• Demonstrates effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in delivering patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents procedures per department policy.
• Obtains nursing history and reports abnormalities to the RN.
• Assists in identifying patient needs and other duties as assigned.
