Job summary

Jackson Health System seeks a Nurse Midwife to deliver continuous care for mothers and babies, aligning with the Holtz Women's and Children unit. The role emphasizes obstetric nursing expertise, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to unit policies to ensure safe, high-quality maternity care.

The incumbent will manage prenatal and labor-related care, educate families, and ensure thorough documentation across the continuum of services, including postnatal and home care coordination.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Florida RN/ARNP license or eligibility for Nurse Midwife/ARNP.
• National Board Certification in Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS and applicable life support certifications required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide delivery-related professional care and manage mothers and babies during maternity care.
• Perform prenatal history and physical exams; complete prenatal care for normal obstetric patients.
• Diagnose onset of labor and conduct admission H&P for patients in labor.
• Educate patients and families to support health adjustments and wellbeing.
• Coordinate hand-offs and continuity of care with the health care team and services.
