Job summary

East Gate Care & Rehab is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to deliver high-quality care for residents on the night shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM). You will assist with grooming, feeding, vitals, and mobility while maintaining a compassionate bedside manner.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass a state-issued CNA exam.
• Active CNA certification in the state of Missouri as stated in job posting.
• Six months long-term care experience preferred.
• Ability to react decisively and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs.
• Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair and incontinence care.
• Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding.
• Assists resident with range of motion exercises.
• Provides for personal care and comfort.
• Movement to wheelchair or activity areas.
• Assists residents with ambulation for short distance in facility.
• Takes and records vital signs and intake/output as directed.
• Provides direct and indirect resident care and communicates changes to nursing staff.

Essential Functions of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):

• Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs
• Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair and incontinence care
• Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding
• Assists resident with range of motion exercises
• Provides for personal care and comfort
• Movement to wheelchair or activity areas
• Assists residents with ambulation for short distance in facility
• Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed
• Provides direct and indirect resident care services
• Meets the communication needs of resident and family
• Communicates to nursing team changes in residents’ clinical condition
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications of Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA):

• High School diploma or general equivalency is preferred
• Must pass a state-issued exam
• Required valid certification as a CNA in the state of Missouri
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff
