Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a part-time Telemetry Monitoring Technician to assist under the supervision of an RN. You will monitor and document cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and report changes promptly. The role involves issuing telemetry equipment, maintaining inventory, and coordinating with vendors to service devices.

The position emphasizes patient safety, accuracy in EMR documentation, and completion of an annual EKG competency test as part of orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Experience or training with medical terminology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents and interprets patient’s heart rhythm and rate using telemetry recordings and reports changes to the RN.
• Alerts nursing staff to arrhythmias or significant changes from baseline.
• Issues telemetry equipment to newly admitted patients and maintains inventory.
• Coordinates with outside vendor support to maintain telemetry equipment.
• Tracks telemetry to ensure continuity and proper return to measurement.
• Ensures patient safety by notifying the charge nurse of risk factors.
• Inputs clinical documentation and charges into the EMR system.
• Completes the annual EKG competency test as part of Monitor Technician orientation.
