Job summary

Swarthmore College’s Public Safety department is seeking a Community Resource Officer for the third shift (7:00 pm to 7:00 am). The officer will patrol the campus, respond to incidents, manage communications, and support emergency response efforts.

Responsibilities include documenting investigations, enforcing traffic safety, and providing escorts during events. A strong emphasis is placed on clear reporting and collaboration with campus partners.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of experience in security/public safety or related field.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate motorized vehicles.
• Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills to convey clear and concise information.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot, vehicle, or bike to deter violations and assist community.
• Respond to incidents and calls for service; document reports and conduct interviews.
• Respond to fire alarms and medical emergencies; coordinate with EMS/fire departments as needed.
• Provide escorts and crowd control at events and manage traffic as required.
