Job summary

Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) invites applications for Maintainer I (3 openings). Workdays Sunday-Thursday, 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. This union position is governed by the AFSCME college bargaining agreement and focuses on campus maintenance and groundskeeping.

Responsibilities include routine manual tasks, minor repairs, and operating equipment as part of a team. Candidates should be able to lift, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines governing assigned unit activities.
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine manual tasks involved in the maintenance and groundskeeping of campus facilities.
• Assists in routine laboring tasks to support skilled tradespeople.
• Lifts, moves and arranges equipment and supplies as needed.
• Operates basic maintenance equipment and vehicles as required.
• Maintains basic records such as logs and inventories.
