Job summary

General Shale Brick’s Ogden, TX facility is seeking a Machine Operator for the night shift. You will follow safety standards, perform pre-operation setup, monitor multiple machines, and ensure minimal unplanned stops while maintaining clean work practices.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and mechanical aptitude; experience with block machines and Signode strap knowledge is a plus. The role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to contribute to a leading brick manufacturer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work in a team and meet shift requirements.
• Experience operating a Columbia or similar block machine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow General Shale safety standards and procedures.
• Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure minimal unplanned stops.
• Follow cleaning procedures at the end of each shift.
• Executing fault finding (trouble shooting) guides.
• Communicate issues with equipment to the supervisor.
• Responsible for operating the strap station.
• Use a panel view to control the equipment in manual mode to perform set-ups or troubleshoot problems.
• Must display a good working knowledge of all control and monitoring devices such as; photo cells, proximity switches, pneumatic controls and hydraulic controls.
