Job summary

General Shale Brick in Ogden, TX seeks a Machine Operator for the night shift (7:00 PM – 5:30 AM). You will safely operate a block machine, perform pre-/post-operation tasks, and monitor equipment with a panel view. A high school diploma and mechanical aptitude are required; experience with Columbia or similar block machines is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Previous experience operating a block machine preferred.
• Mechanical skills are essential.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Follow General Shale safety standards and procedures.
• Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper startup and operation of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment to minimize unplanned stops.
• Follow cleaning procedures at shift end.
• Perform fault finding and troubleshooting as needed.
• Communicate equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Operate the strap station.
• Use panel view to control equipment in manual mode for set-ups or troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate knowledge of control and monitoring devices (photo cells, proximity switches, pneumatics, hydraulics).
