Job summary

Graham Packaging Company is seeking a Machine Operator based in Hammond, LA. This night-shift role operates from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am on a 2-2-3 schedule and involves running plastic blow molding machines and related equipment to produce high-quality containers.

The operator must follow safety and GMP policies, participate in quality improvement, and support maintenance, with opportunities to train new operators and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in manufacturing.
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
• Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including customer interaction.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with others.

Responsibilities

• Operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and adjust as needed for safe, high-quality output.
• Follow safety, health, quality GMP and company policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and related activities.
• Perform mold, insert and color changes on the line as required.
• Perform basic processing to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Monitor resin, dryer, material handling and color systems for proper conditions.
• Complete and file documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
• Coordinate production line support with the shift supervisor.
• Assist maintenance personnel and other Operators on repairs.
• Assist in training new Operators.
• Limited travel may be required.
