Job summary

TRAK Group's client in Mason, Ohio seeks an Automation Technician to support automated equipment and plant systems in a 100% in-office setting with a 11pm–7:30am shift, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining PLCs, VFDs, electrical and mechanical systems within an industrial manufacturing environment.

You will read schematics, document work clearly, and collaborate with maintenance and operations teams while pursuing continuous improvement to uptime

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery.
• Experience with PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to accurately document maintenance and repair activities.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule based on business needs.
• Ability to travel to other locations as needed for training or technical support.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated equipment and systems.
• Work with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation equipment.
• Repair electrical and mechanical components on industrial machinery.
• Follow electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, manuals, codes, and equipment specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair bearings, machine components, pneumatic systems, and piping systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to diagnose and complete repairs.
• Complete maintenance work orders with accurate labor hours, parts usage, and detailed repair information.
• Support and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs.
• Identify opportunities to increase equipment uptime, reliability, and productivity.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow company safety procedures and regulations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team initiatives.
• Provide support or training at other company locations as needed.
