Job summary

Becton, Dickinson, and Company (BD) is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to support maintenance and optimization of production equipment on the night shift in Columbus, NE. You will collaborate with Controls Coordinators and Process Engineers to implement improvements and ensure safety, quality, and uptime.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Electromechanical Technology or related field, experience with automated production equipment, PLCs, robotics, and strong trouble-shooting

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Associate's Degree in Electromechanical Technology or a related technical field required.
• Minimum Experience Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated production equipment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support Controls Coordinators and Process Engineers with process improvements involving mechanical, electrical, controls programming, robotics, and machine vision technologies.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including pneumatics, electric motors, VFDs, and servo systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair PLCs.
• Maintain and repair robotic systems and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial communication networks.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and validation activities.
• Manage and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Train machine operators on proper equipment operation, preventive maintenance and safety procedures.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical support to fellow associates.
• Respond to equipment issues outside of normal hours on call-in basis.
• Update and maintain Quality System documentation as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment to optimize performance, quality, and uptime.
• Support additional business needs and projects.
