Job summary

ARUP Laboratories, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, seeks an ASM Technician I to provide pre-analytic and post-analytic support for laboratory testing sections. Responsibilities include ensuring specimen integrity during transport, operating automation systems, and assisting with maintenance and troubleshooting.

You will work night shifts with training options and gain experience with laboratory information systems and quality assurance programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
• 1 year: Laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately handles specimens during transport to and from laboratory sections according to established departmental procedures.
• Manages specimens on the automated track
• Stores specimens in the AS/RS system, in automated and manual modes.
• Develops proficiency in the basic workings of the automated track system and other automation systems within the department.
• Develops skills to provide first level support for troubleshooting and maintenance for department automation systems.
• Maintains work area, cleans bench tops and equipment daily, documents cleaning and maintenance.
• Develops understanding of the Quality Assurance program.
• Meets output measures as defined by group procedures.
• Assists others in areas of defined competency when workload is complete.
