Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner for Hospital Medicine. This full-time role delivers direct patient care in collaboration with physicians, participates in system improvement, and provides evidence-based care across shifts, including a full-time night schedule (7p–7a).

The position partners with Case Western Reserve University and offers an academic appointment at a rank commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• MSN or APRN education is required or grandfathered under Ohio law.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• Current Ohio RN licensure is required.
• Certificate of Authority as APRN in Ohio.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) or obtained within 90 days.
• Other advanced life support certifications within 180 days.
• Meets requirements for clinical privileges with MetroHealth and credentialing process.
• Preferred: Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from Ohio Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to patient safety and provides evidence-based care.
• Performs patient assessment and documents data.
• Develops individual, evidence-based care plans with collaboration.
• Provides care to maintain health, prevent illness, and support family preferences.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and ethical conduct.
• Prescribes drugs within scope of practice if qualified.
