Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking a refrigeration maintenance technician to oversee and maintain ammonia refrigeration systems. The role requires inspecting and testing equipment, diagnosing faults, and performing preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The position emphasizes the ability to work nights (Sunday through Thursday) and to complete HazMat-related tasks, with a strong focus on documentation and system optimization. Pilgrim's offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of ammonia refrigeration or maintenance experience required.
• Experience with A/C and D/C control devices.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Able to work while walking/standing for long periods.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must pass PFT test.

Responsibilities

• Start system and monitor operation.
• Inspect equipment and observe temperatures, pressures, and readings.
• Test lines for leaks and perform preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators and icemakers.
• Replace worn parts and repair system components; maintain records.
• Keep logs of repairs and malfunctions and check fans, motors, belts, bearings.
• Paperwork: PSM, line break, hot work, confined space.
