Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Per Diem Senior Assessment Coordinator for NIGHT SHIFT to assist with patient intakes in our admissions department. The role supports inpatient and outpatient programs for adults and adolescents, emphasizing thorough assessments and timely admissions.

The ideal candidate has a master's degree in counseling/psychology or related field, NJ license if available, and experience in crisis intervention.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling/psychology/related field – with or without license/certification
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/related field with acurrent New Jersey state license/certification or state crisis intervention screening license
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/related field without licensing will be considered
• Minimum of one-year experience in psychiatric required
• Previous experience in crisis intervention preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with referral agencies to facilitate admissions to inpatient/outpatient care.
• Facilitate all aspects of the assessment and admission process for psychiatric evaluation.
• Provide a comprehensive level of care assessment and recommendation for treatment within our continuum of care.
• Provide efficient handling of inquiry calls from referral sources, patients, and family members seeking treatment options.
• Coordinate with insurance companies for authorizations of recommended treatment.
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation.
• Work with the department Director and Supervisor to ensure compliance with state and facility requirements.
• For Nurses: provide comprehensive medical evaluations for referrals and obtain orders for admit.
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
