Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Per Diem – Admissions Nurse / Senior Assessment Coordinator to assist with patient intakes in our admissions department. The role includes coordinating referrals, facilitating assessments and admissions for psychiatric treatment, and ensuring accurate documentation within our private behavioral health center.

Ideal candidates will have an RN license, a master’s degree in a related field or a NJ licensed bachelor’s, and experience in crisis

Qualifications

• Nurse (RN)
• Master’s degree in counseling/psychology/related field – with or without license/certification
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/related field with a current New Jersey state license/certification or state crisis intervention screening license
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology/sociology/related fieldwithout licensing will be considered
• Minimum of one-year experience in psychiatric required
• Previous experience in crisis intervention preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with referral agencies in facilitating step down/direct transfer admissions to both our inpatient and/or outpatient continuum of care.
• Facilitating all aspects of the assessment and admission process for patients seeking evaluation for psychiatric (with possible co-occurring substance abuse) treatment.
• Provide a comprehensive level of care assessment for providing a recommendation for treatment within our continuum of care.
• Provide efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls from referral sources, patients, and family members seeking treatment options.
• Coordinating with insurance companies for authorizations of recommended treatment
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation.
• Works collaboratively with the department Director and Supervisor to ensure compliance with state and facility requirements.
• For Nurses: provide comprehensive medical evaluations for referrals, conduct nurse to nurse reports when indicated, obtain orders for admit
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality
