Universal Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Per Diem Senior Assessment Coordinator for NIGHT SHIFT in New Jersey to support admissions.

The role focuses on intake coordination, comprehensive assessments and treatment recommendations for psychiatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidate should have a related master’s degree and NJ licensing or crisis intervention credentials, with one year of psychiatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or related field required or with license.
Bachelor’s in psychology/sociology with NJ license or crisis intervention license.
Experience in psychiatric intake/admission and crisis work preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with referral agencies for step down/direct transfer admissions to inpatient or outpatient care.
Facilitate assessment and admission processes for psychiatric evaluations.
Provide comprehensive level of care assessments with treatment recommendations.
Handle inquiry calls from referrals, patients and family regarding treatment options.
Coordinate with insurers for authorization of recommended treatment.
Document accurately and timely according to policy and confidentiality rules.
Collaborate with department leadership to ensure compliance with state and facility requirements.
For nurses: obtain orders for admit and conduct nurse-to-nurse reports when indicated.
Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
