Job summary

Marshall Medical Center in Placerville, CA is seeking an Acute Care Assistant to support the Med Surg team. You will work under a Registered Nurse to perform non-licensed patient care tasks, focusing on basic hygiene, daily living activities, nutrition, vital signs, and safe patient handling.

Primarily night shifts are expected, with a regular full-time position. BLS certification is required; CNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-2 Paramedic) experience or related nursing school enrollment.
• Enrollment in CNA training or nursing program or related clinical experience.
• Acute Nursing Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Provide nutritional support as directed and monitor intake.
• Take and record vital signs, EKGs and basic health data.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers as needed.
• Interact with patients, visitors and staff in a professional manner.
• Ensure safe handling of infectious materials to protect patients and staff.
