Tacoma Rescue Mission is seeking a part-time Shelter Generalist for the Adams Street Family Campus in Tacoma, WA. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, hospitable environment, performing intake, connecting residents with resources, and supporting trauma-informed services.

You will handle daily shelter operations, safety checks, data entry, and coordination with team members while upholding our mission to serve neighbors in need with compassion and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience working with or serving alongside marginalized communities.
• Basic operating knowledge of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft Office Suites.
• Effective de-escalation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Capacity to accomplish multiple tasks within a short time.
• Clear and effective written, verbal, and electronic communication.
• Ability to foster teamwork in a diverse environment.

Responsabilités

• Greet guests, residents, and visitors, fostering a welcoming environment.
• Conduct intake procedures and assessments, linking to resources.
• Oversee shelter operations and ensure safety and comfort of residents.
• Complete shelter walkthroughs and maintain logs of occurrences and needs.
• Maintain inventory, donated items, and shelter supplies.
