Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced Security Officer for our Security Services department to support a mission of compassionate care. The role emphasizes safety for patients, staff, visitors and volunteers, plus collaboration with security and hospital staff.

The position offers a 40-hour work week on a night shift with weekend rotation, workplace safety emphasis, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous security experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Must possess a US Driver’s License.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must be able to respond to physically demanding emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, physicians and volunteers.
• Ensure quality outcomes for security department by communicating effectively with security, staff and the public.
• Conduct foot patrols of the facility and parking areas.
• Conduct vehicular patrols of the parking areas and off site locations.
• Assist with restraining violent patients.
• Use time and resources in a financially responsible manner.
• Foster group cohesiveness within the security department.
• Portray a positive image of the organization.
