Job summary

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Safety Partner for a full-time night shift (7P–7A) on a rotating schedule. The Safety Partner assists in providing a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, impulsiveness, or self-harm to support safe care during the stay.

The role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, BLS within 90 days of hire, and completion of the Sentara Safety Partner Training Course during orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Sentara Safety Partner Training Course to be completed during orientation.
• Previous healthcare experience or enrollment in a health sciences program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, impulsiveness, self-harm or other risk behaviors.
• Contribute to patient care and safety throughout the hospital stay.
