Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis, in its Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, seeks an RN Supervisor for Stepdown at night. You will oversee patient care during 6pm–4am shifts and ensure nursing processes, confidentiality, and interdepartmental coordination are maintained with Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications include an RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure, and certifications such as BLS and ACLS with timely completion. Previous critical care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the hiring state or compact licensure required.
• ACLS certification or eligible within specified timeframe.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and team members.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information.

Overview

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

RN Supervisor- Stepdown- FT Nights (4x 10 hour shifts)

6pm-4am

$10,000 Bonus for Experienced Nurses

Qualifications

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Experience

preferred 1 year of critical care experience

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Required

One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
