Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on the night shift in Des Moines, IA.

The role provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages, utilizing a team approach to coordinate care from admission to discharge. Applicants must hold an Iowa RN license and BLS certification, with opportunities to grow within the MercyOne system.

Qualifications

Current Iowa RN license (or compact state license).
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers required within 6 weeks of hire.
Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients across ages.
Maintain patient safety and comfort; use safe handling techniques.
Coordinate care with the healthcare team during admission, transfer, and discharge.
Support families with education and emotional needs during care.
