Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Des Moines, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a compassionate RN for the OB Emergency Department – Antepartum Unit. This state-of-the-art unit cares for low and high-risk antepartum patients, pregnant patients over 20 weeks with other diagnoses, with a 24/7 ultrasound area, triage and inpatient beds.

The nurse will provide individualized care, support families, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license or compact state licensure.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association.
• Mandatory Reporter training completed within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
• Use a team approach to delegate and coordinate patient care at admission, transfer and discharge.
• Deliver nursing care independently under Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assist with patient care duties and maintain safety protocols.
