Job summary

Texas Health Huguley is seeking an experienced RN to provide high-acuity care for patients staying in the emergency department area before transfer to inpatient units. The role requires PCU experience, strong critical thinking, and efficient EMR documentation.

Shifts are nights, one-on-one collaboration with healthcare teams, and a focus on patient safety and education. RN licensure, BLS, and an ADN or BSN are required, with preference for BSN and Cerner/EPIC familiarity.

Qualifications

• RN with PCU experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher required (RN)
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with EMR systems
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity nursing care to admitted patients in the ED holding/transfer area
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient status and adjust care plans accordingly
• Coordinate with inpatient units and case management for smooth transitions
• Provide patient and family education on health conditions and treatments
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record
