Job summary

University Health System in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 5 East Cardiac Intermediate Critical Care Unit Nights. This 32-bed unit serves adult and geriatric patients, functioning as an ICU step-down with a focus on high acuity care, teamwork, and a fast-paced environment.

Orientation ranges 8–12 weeks based on needs. The RN will assess, implement, delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care while coordinating with other shifts for continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Texas RN License/Compact License.
• Current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• PCCN Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement or delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with established philosophy.
• Provide and direct patient care for a group of patients.
• Relate effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.
